The first Manchester United player speaks out about Coach Amorim

Diogo Dalot has become the first Manchester United player to break the silence in the locker room, sharing his thoughts on the possible appointment of Ruben Amorim as the club’s new manager.

In an official statement released this past Monday afternoon, United announced that Erik Ten Hag had been dismissed after over two years in charge. Ruben Amorim, the current Sporting Lisbon manager, is the frontrunner for the position and is expected to be appointed in the coming days.

As the first player to speak about Amorim’s potential arrival, Portuguese right-back Diogo Dalot shared the locker room’s perspective in an interview with Sky Sports: “Amorim is clearly a great coach. We don’t know for certain if he’ll be joining this week; we’re only aware of the information that’s out there like everyone else. We’re focused on the tasks we have here and ready for any changes the future may bring.”

Dalot, 25, also expressed his gratitude to Ten Hag, who helped him become a regular starter for United. He added, “We all feel it. The following day was truly a tough one for all of us. Ten Hag lives and breathes football. It’s his passion. But that’s football; sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t. We wish him all the best and thank him for everything he’s done for us. On a personal level, he’s helped me a lot to secure my place at United.”
