Ten Hag Gives More Chances to Two Young Stars

According to Unitedinfocus, forward Ethan Wheatley still has a chance to remain with Manchester United‘s first team.

United’s main striker, Rasmus Hojlund, returned to training with the first team this week after suffering a hamstring injury during pre-season. Hojlund is the ninth player to rejoin the squad after recovering from injury.

There are concerns that Hojlund’s return may diminish Wheatley’s chances of playing time. However, manager Erik ten Hag has made it clear to Wheatley that opportunities are still open for the 2006-born player.

Wheatley was seen training with the first team less than 24 hours after the match against Barnsley, indicating that he still has plenty of opportunities, despite competition from Hojlund and Mason Mount for attacking positions.

Additionally, young talent Harry Amass was also present in training. This recognition of his efforts recently comes despite limited chances for him to play. Ten Hag likely wants Amass to gain experience from the senior players.
