In an interview with Football365, former star Owen Hargreaves expressed confidence that the Red Devils will win at least one trophy this season.
Erik ten Hag is entering his third year at Manchester United. The Dutch coach has led the club to two major titles since arriving at Old Trafford in 2022.
The 54-year-old guided Manchester United to the Carabao Cup in 2023. Last season, Ten Hag and Manchester United won the FA Cup after defeating Manchester City in the final at Wembley.
This season, Manchester United kicked off their Carabao Cup campaign with a dominant 7-0 victory over Barnsley. The Red Devils will play their first match in the Europa League against FC Twente.
Speaking to Football365, former player Owen Hargreaves believes Manchester United will secure at least one trophy this season:
“Manchester United will compete in the Europa League. That is a tournament they can win. They had a poor record in the Champions League last season. The best option is for them to participate in a competition where they have a chance to succeed.”
“This is a long season. We need to be patient with the players and the coach. You can’t make a decision to fire someone after just 3 or 4 matches.”
