Mbappe is seeking €55 million in unpaid wages from PSG

According to Spanish media, Kylian Mbappe is demanding PSG pay €55 million in unpaid wages, despite having left the club in July.

PSG has yet to pay Mbappe for three months of his salary

Mbappe has joined Real Madrid, played two matches, and won a title with them. However, he is currently in a dispute with PSG over the unpaid wages. His legal team has escalated the issue to the French Professional Footballers’ Association (LFP) and UEFA.

Mbappe claims he has not received his wages for the last three months of his PSG contract. Although he agreed to forgo a year’s worth of bonuses, this agreement did not cover the wages for the final three months.

PSG argues that Mbappe committed to not receiving any payment if he left the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2024. This stance seems inconsistent, as PSG continued to pay him normally, except for the last three months. Additionally, Le Monde reports that no formal agreement was reached between PSG and Mbappe regarding his future after their last meeting in 2023.

Mbappe has officially joined Real Madrid

If PSG fails to pay the outstanding wages, they could face penalties, including a transfer ban and exclusion from UEFA competitions, potentially losing their Champions League spot. PSG must resolve the issue by February 28 to avoid such sanctions.

Failure to settle the debt could result in PSG being excluded from the 2024/25 Champions League, with the group stage draw scheduled for August 29.
