Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer has expressed his enthusiasm as the UEFA Champions League kicks off with its new format.
As one of Bayern Munich’s most experienced players, Neuer is confident about adapting to the changes in the Champions League format.
“Of course, everything is new for us with the new format and the way the stages of the UEFA Champions League are structured. The most important thing is that the final will be held in Munich. We want to be there and will give our all to achieve that. We’re really looking forward to the game starting tomorrow,” Neuer said during the pre-match press conference.
Neuer also discussed his approach to the game, saying, “Sometimes we have to face opponents directly in defense. I try to assess the situations and make the right decision about when to leave my position to participate in the play. Sometimes, I find myself positioned slightly higher on the field than before.”
Bayern Munich will face Dinamo Zagreb at 2:00 AM local time (Vietnamese time) tomorrow in their opening match of the UEFA Champions League for this season.
