Manchester United Lineup Against Palace: 4 Players OUT; Ugarte to Start for the First Time

Coach Erik ten Hag updated the squad situation for Manchester United ahead of their match against Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils ended a two-match losing streak with a 3-0 victory in the Premier League against Southampton, followed by a 7-0 win over Barnsley in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Manchester United will head to London to face Crystal Palace in the fifth round of the Premier League. In the pre-match press conference, coach Erik ten Hag confirmed some good news regarding the squad.

The Dutch manager stated that Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund have returned to training and may be available for the weekend match.

He said, “It’s great news that they are back. They have returned to training with the team, and we have to decide if they are fit enough to play, but it’s nice to see they are healthy and back in the squad.”

According to the official announcement, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, and Leny Yoro will be absent. Overall, Manchester United still has a strong squad for the match.

The Red Devils currently sit in 10th place in the standings with 6 points, 3 points behind the top 4.

This will not be an easy challenge as Palace is also determined to secure a positive result, having only picked up 2 points so far.

Significant changes are expected compared to the victory over Barnsley.

Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, Noussair Mazraoui, Andre Onana, Bruno Fernandes, and Kobbie Mainoo are likely to be included in the starting lineup.

Manuel Ugarte may make his first Premier League start.

Mount and Hojlund may not be in the starting lineup but could be available from the bench.
