M.U Officially Welcomes James Overy

Young Australian player James Overy is officially a member of Manchester United.

The former youth player from Perth Glory has joined United’s U18 academy after the Premier League and the Football Association finally approved the transfer.

Overy has also updated his Instagram bio to reflect his status as a Manchester United player through a scholarship contract.

The 17-year-old, a product of the Glory academy, had been rumored to join the Premier League giants since May, but both the player and the club had to wait for the necessary procedures to be completed.

Overy drew attention following his performance for Perth in a friendly match against Premier League club West Ham in July 2023. Like defender Alessandro Circati from Subway Socceroos and Parma, Overy left Glory without making an official appearance for the A-League team.

Overy is one of the promising young talents joining M.U. this summer as part of the club’s efforts to build a strong future for the Red Devils.
