Casemiro, Manchester United’s star, is reportedly in talks to leave the club on loan. Previously, he faced numerous criticisms for his underwhelming performance in the loss to Liverpool.
The Brazilian midfielder is currently under significant pressure after a forgettable match against Liverpool last weekend. He was substituted in the second half after making two serious errors that led to both of Luis Díaz’s goals for Liverpool.
These mistakes have made Casemiro’s departure from Manchester United more likely than ever. According to Futbol Arena, journalist Ali Naci Küçük stated: “Galatasaray is also looking to strengthen their midfield. Casemiro is one of the players they are targeting. Galatasaray is in negotiations with Manchester United to loan Casemiro for one season.”
After the Liverpool match, when asked about the decision to substitute Casemiro, coach Erik ten Hag explained: “It was something the team needed. When you’re down 2-0 to Liverpool, you have to take bigger risks.”
Manchester United teammates have also shown their support for Casemiro. The Sun revealed: “No one criticized Casemiro after the match. On the contrary, the general mood in the dressing room is that everyone needs to improve and work harder.”
However, if Casemiro’s poor form continues, he might lose his starting position, especially with newcomer Manuel Ugarte ready to play. The Uruguayan player has completed his transfer process but couldn’t feature in the Liverpool match due to timing constraints.
After the international break, Manchester United will return to the Premier League with an away match against newly promoted Southampton.
