Antony wants to part ways with Manchester United

Winger Antony is reportedly looking to leave Manchester United immediately following the dismissal of coach Erik ten Hag. The Brazilian forward is seeking new opportunities elsewhere due to limited playing time with the Red Devils in Manchester.

Since joining United in 2022 with a reported transfer fee of €95 million, things haven’t gone as expected for the former Ajax player. He has made 87 appearances across all competitions, scoring only 12 goals and providing 5 assists.

In the current season, Antony has yet to start any Premier League match for United. He has only appeared twice as a substitute, totaling 27 minutes in the English top flight.

The 24-year-old also hasn’t secured a starting position in any of United’s Europa League matches this season, with just 38 minutes of playtime in this competition.

Antony’s only goal of the season came in United’s 7-0 victory over Barnsley in the League Cup’s third round on September 17.

If Antony leaves, United would suffer a considerable loss as his value has dropped significantly (now valued at €20 million on Transfermarkt). His contract runs until the summer of 2027, but completing the contract seems unlikely.

Following Erik ten Hag’s departure, United has appointed Ruben Amorim as the head coach. Currently, the Red Devils are linked with a number of players from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon, including 17-year-old winger Geovany Quenda.

Coach Amorim was the one who gave Quenda his first-team debut at Sporting. The young player has made 18 first-team appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist.
