Barca’s young talent misses the match against Celta Vigo

During Barca’s visit to Celta Vigo in round 14 of La Liga 2024/25, coach Hansi Flick will be without young midfielder Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old Spanish talent is not fit enough to play.

Yamal suffered an ankle injury during Barca’s 5-2 victory over Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League on November 7, which caused him to miss the 0-1 defeat to Real Sociedad a few days later.

Initially, Barca announced that Yamal would be sidelined for 2-3 weeks. However, according to AS, his recovery has progressed faster than expected. Despite this, the club does not want to rush his return, prioritizing full recovery to avoid the risk of re-injury.

The No. 19 has scored six goals across all competitions for Barca this season and was instrumental in helping Spain win EURO 2024. If all goes as planned, Yamal is expected to make his return when Barca hosts Brest in the Champions League on November 27.
