Through TNT Sports, center-back Leny Yoro expressed what Manchester United expects from him as he comes back from a long-term foot injury.
In the summer of 2024, Real Madrid and Liverpool were both linked with Yoro, but ultimately, Manchester United won the race to sign the promising French defender.
Yoro has yet to make his official debut for Manchester United after suffering a foot fracture during pre-season. This setback is expected to keep him sidelined until the end of November. However, his recovery is progressing well, and he isn’t too anxious, sharing what he can bring to the Old Trafford squad upon his return.
The former Lille star stated, “I try to be smart on the pitch, to play with my head, to understand the game and the opponent. And I need to stay calm. Especially when it comes to every situation while I’m defending.
When I was at Lille, I would watch clips of strikers every weekend to understand their movements and how they want to receive the ball. This has helped me a lot.”
When asked why he chose Manchester United, Yoro added, “For me, Manchester United is the biggest club in the world. When I was younger—the players who were here, the history, the fans—everything here is immense.”
