Zirkzee Rated Higher than Juventus’ €75 Million Signing

Joshua Zirkzee’s contributions to Manchester United‘s attacking front have been significant.

Starting in the away match against Crystal Palace in the fifth round of the 2024/25 Premier League, Zirkzee effectively linked up Manchester United’s attack at Selhurst Park. In the first half, the Red Devils created numerous chances, with Zirkzee playing a crucial role in their sharp offensive plays.

Dropping deep and connecting the play in a manner reminiscent of his idol Robin van Persie, the young Dutch forward often found himself at the center of Manchester United’s most dangerous attacks. Zirkzee provided an early assist for Alejandro Garnacho, though Dean Henderson was outstanding in goal.

Despite the goalless draw against Crystal Palace, coach Fabio Capello praised Zirkzee’s impact on the team’s overall offensive efforts, highlighting him above Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.

In comments to Gazzetta dello Sport regarding the 0-0 draw between Juventus and Napoli, Capello stated: “The Bianconeri are still too slow in ball circulation and lack quality players in attacking midfield.”

“Vlahovic is not Zirkzee. He is an opportunistic player in the box, rather than an outstanding playmaker.”

Zirkzee exemplifies a player who carries the ball, connects the lines, and creates space for teammates to score. The excellent form of Riccardo Orsolini, Zirkzee’s former teammate at Bologna, clearly illustrates what the young striker brings to the table.
