BREAKING: Bayern Munich Remains Ruthless with Goretzka

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich continues to seek to offload midfielder Leon Goretzka.

Goretzka is enduring a tough time at Bayern. After 4 matches in all competitions this season, the German international has only managed a mere 1 minute of playing time, coming on as a substitute in the 2-0 win against Freiburg.

In Bayern’s most recent victory over Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga, Goretzka wasn’t even included in the matchday squad.

During the summer transfer window of 2024, Bayern tried to offload the former Schalke 04 star to various clubs, including Napoli, Atletico Madrid, and Galatasaray. However, Goretzka resisted these moves, preferring to stay and fight for a starting spot at the Allianz Arena.

Recent updates from Romano indicate that Bayern is still determined to move Goretzka on during the upcoming winter transfer window in 2025, as coach Vincent Kompany has no plans to utilize him.

The Belgian coach prioritizes using a midfield trio of Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Joao Palhinha. Additionally, Kompany will rotate with alternatives like Konrad Laimer and Raphael Guerreiro.

Last season, under coach Thomas Tuchel, Goretzka was frequently criticized for his poor form and was often relegated to the bench.

In the 2023/24 campaign, Goretzka played a total of 40 matches across all competitions, scoring 6 goals and providing 8 assists. His disappointing performance led to him being omitted from the Germany squad for EURO 2024 by coach Julian Nagelsmann.
